Historic Routes
Our historic route programs are destined to ancient Ethiopian towns such as Axum, Gonder, Lalibella, Lake Tana area, and Harrar.
Ethiopia has exhibited extensive historic sites
particularly in the north. Here travelers can see
monuments and buildings of the first millennium. These include
the Axum steale, Queen Sheba's palace, tombs of Axumite
Empire kings etc.
Rock hewn churches of the 4th century are also found and accessible all over the Tigray region - north Ethiopia, including the 13th century monolithic Church of Lalibela. This church is marked as the Eighth Wonder of the World by UNESCO.
17th century Ethiopian castles , located in the town of Gonder are accessible to travelers, depicting the style of living of Africans in those days. Very close to this castles are found interesting monasteries of Lake Tana. Lake Tana, is the source of the Blue Nile and Blue Nile Falls - a tributary to the longest river of the world - the Nile. The Blue Niles Falls is the second magnificent falls in Africa, too.
In east of Ethiopia, the 1000 years old town of Harrar, with its 99 mosques and hence the fourth holiest place of in Islam, after Mecca , Medina and Jerusalem is also accessible to our clients.
